1st Haircut
AKA Operation Goodbye Mullet. Jordan did great, sitting in the airplane seat, watching cartoons and holding her sucker (but not eating it). Just another milestone for our big girl.

18 Months Old
18 months felt like a huge milestone for me. She was on the downhill from one - heading toward two. Everything about her age makes Jordan sound like she is a toddler, and if I'm completely honest, so do her actions. She is such a big girl. The biggest change this month was that Jordan started going to daycare or "school" as we like to call it. I started working for the first time since I had Jordan, and it was a big change for all of us. Doug and I carpool and he takes a lot of the heavy hitting with taking Jordan into school in the morning - since she always cry when we drop her off. He also leaves the house a lot earlier in order to carpool - and I really appreciate his flexibility. My mom also is able to pick Jordan up early a few nights a week to make our evenings a little easier and allows them to spend some time together. Overall, it's been very positive and I'm so lucky to have such an amazing support system.
We had a fun month with Thanksgiving and preparations for Christmas. We hosted Thanksgiving for my entire family and then went to St. Louis for round two.
We had so much fun getting ready for the Christmas holiday. Jordan absolutely loves Christmas trees. It became a nightly routine for us to go around and turn on all the Christmas lights with Jordan. She would take your hand, lead you and then point to a tree that needs to be lit and then when you turned it on - she would say "AWWWWW!" Every Single Time!
Jordan and I also enjoyed a quick trip to Virginia to spend time with my brother and his family. We were able to be there for his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel. Such an amazing, special time for our family. We are so incredibly proud. Jordan showed her support by screaming through the ceremony.
A few updates from this month-
Dancing - Jordan learned some sweet new dance moves at school and she is becoming quite the little mover. One of our favorites is when she points (Imagine John Travolta in Greece Lightening).
Coloring - Probably another skill learned at school, Jordan picked up a love of coloring. She now will use multiple colors and really enjoys art time.
Shapes - Even before we started daycare, Jordan had started to do some simple shape sorting. We have a few toys that she started figuring this out. It's so fun to see her learn and grow each and everyday.
Favorites - She loves to sing "Open, Shut Them" a song that we learned at Library story hour. Her favorite book is 10 Little Ducks.

We did the bounce thing at the mall while we were there.
Jordan playing on a toy airplane before getting on the real thing. She did great on the trip.

Girls getaway to Chicago
With Santa - Jordan was skeptical of him, so we made it a family picture.

Our little dog
Mommy: What do you want to be for Halloween? A kitty? Duck? Princess? Cupcake?
Jordan: Dog!
Should have known better than than to ask a toddler who's favorite word is dog. We had a wonderful haloween with our little puppy dog. The weather was unseasonably warm and we went to a few houses in our neighborhood. The rest of the night, we sat on the front porch and Jordan gave out candy to all the kids. She loved it.

18 Month checkup
Our annual "What weighs more? The baby or the turkey Game" at Thanksgiving. In this picture she looks so big to me!
Especially when you consider last year's picture! Can you say Butterball?
It's official - our baby weighs 20lbs! She is 30 3/4 inches and her head circumference is 18 3/4". She is right on track verbally and the doctor tells us that picky eating is normal at this age. (What about all the ages up till now!!)
