Partners in crime

I told Jordan she could watch one show. When I came out of the laundry room, she told me that Hailey turned on the second one. And it begins......

Month 4 - April

Things seem really crazy and fun (sometimes overwhelming) with two kiddos at home.  Our nanny started working one day per week this month and it is working out great to have her here so I can work.  My mom is watching the kids one day per week, too.  We were lucky to have some nice days in April, but still had some fairly cold days as well.

Our big girl started sleeping in her crib this month.  Sometimes the hallway feels a really long way from us, but I think it was good for everyone to make the transition.  Hailey really started grabbing at things this month.  She also started rolling over from belly to back on April 2.  Sleeping is sort of a moving target these days.  We have good days and not-so-good days.  We try to get three naps a day and going to bed a lot earlier starting this month - by 7:00.  The one thing that I want to remember about Hailey is how easily she goes to sleep.  Rocking her for a very short amount of time and she is out.  She also transfers easily to the crib.  I remember rocking Jordan forever at this age, trying to get her to sleep and then having her wake up when I would try to put her down.

Jordan is completely into Dora the Explorer, princesses, the color pink and dresses.  It was hard this month to get her to wear anything but a pink dress.  This made things difficult since we got snow in April and May.  Everywhere we went this spring, Jordan was complimented on her silver sparkle Toms shoes.  We continue to get better with eating and she is making friends in the neighborhood which is so much fun.  She can count in Spanish now - up to ten and will throw in spanish words every now and then "Adios!"  She is still enjoying gymnastics every week.

Month 3 - March

March was a busy month, which is why I am writing this in May.  March included Hailey's first plane ride and a fun trip to see the Eckerberg clan in Virginia.  Also a trip to St. Louis for Easter and to visit the Burgess family.  I also ended my amazing 3 months of maternity leave and went back to work with the amazing help from Aunt Niki.

This month Hailey started grabbing and holding onto things which is so much fun.  She is also proving her intelligence by her ability to find her pacifier and somehow manages to get it back to her mouth.  Pretty amazing to see her little arms finally doing things instead of flailing around.  She loves to look in the mirror and continues to win over everyone with her amazing smiles.  She continued to sleep pretty well this month - usually just getting up once or twice to eat.  Mornings are a favorite time for Hailey - she is super happy.  Therefore, Mom and Dad enjoy our morning cuddles with a very happy Hailey.
Still wearing a size 1 diaper and some Newborn and 0-3 months sizes, she is a peanut like her sister.

This was a great month for Jordan, too.  I'm not going to lie, February was tough.  We tried potty training with a bad result, she started climbing out of her crib and sleeping became rough, and her eating hit an all time low.

This month, she decided she was ready to use the potty, told me and has not had an accident since that first day.  We also found a strategy for sleeping where we give her one chance to stay in bed and therefore keep the door open.  Suddenly nap and night times aren't a struggle and we have our happy girl back.  We also started seeing a new occupational therapist who really gets Jordan, our struggles with eating and is helping us so much.  The best part is that Jordan enjoys the appointments.
We also started gymnastics this month - which has brought her increased independence and so much confidence.  I can't even believe the difference in a month.

Overall just an amazing month with our sweet girls.

Kindness

Special present showed up mysteriously on our doorstep for Jordan this morning. So thoughtful - made us both feel special today.
