From the first night in the hospital, Doug started calling Jordan - the bird. I have to admit it's a pretty great nickname - plus she really did sound like a bird. Her cries were never very loud - sounding more like chirps. So the nickname bird has stayed (or J bird - not to be confused with Jayhawk to all my Kansas readers). She still does chirp although, now her cries sometimes upgrade to more of a squawk.
